Sherlock

So, I'm a little late jumping onto this particular bandwagon, but I spent this last weekend (when not sleeping or drowning in homework) watching Sherlock and I'm totally addicted! I think it's very clever the way they have worked in modern day technology and society while maintaining the essence of the Sherlock Holmes character (from the books, not Robert Downey Jr, even though I love him like crazy). Benedict Cumberpatch (right??) does a great job of being the anti-social, narcissistic genius. Every once in a while he does something that shows he has a heart and I get really excited about it. Martin Freeman is a perfect foil as Dr. Watson, and I respect that he can make his character not come off as annoying for never being able to keep up intellectually with Sherlock (but I mean, who could?) and he has a lot of heart which brings in some emotional and angsty and comical relief to Sherlock's intensity, although Sherlock has a lot of clever and hilarious lines himself. Writing is very smart and funny, cases usually are very intense and emotional, and the rapport between characters is flawless (especially Sherlock and Watson). LOVE it right now!

Anxiously awaiting: the Hound of the Baskervilles episode!!! Loving that book+Loving that show=the perfect combination for my Monday night! :D (I don't have cable so I watch things the day after)

(There should have been an "Obsession" page for Downton Abbey because I definitely went through that phase, but it was during my dark non-blogging days. I'll get it next season. But I was fairly obsessed for a while, so I thought you should know.)
